Across many countries, informality is the dominant reality of work, where most young people learn and earn through traditional apprenticeships and on the job learning. These systems are effective and socially rooted, yet they often lack structure, certification and pathways to better income and mobility. As a result, workers remain stuck in a cycle of low skills, low productivity and low income, reinforcing vulnerability across generations.

The new DC dVET products show how dual VET-inspired approaches build on what already works in informal systems while introducing recognition, structure, learning quality, and inclusiveness – without imposing full formalisation.

In diesem Webinar haben wir uns Informationen über das österreichische Ausbildungsmodell Duale Akademie geholt. Es wurde speziell für Personen mit Matura entwickelt und hat sich seit 2022 österreichweit etabliert. Die schweizerische way-up Lehre wird als Vorreitermodell betrachtet.

Die Duale Akademie bietet verkürzte, praxisnahe Berufsausbildungen mit Lehrabschluss in verschiedenen Fachrichtungen an. Weiterführende Inhalte bereiten die Teilnehmenden auf anspruchsvollere Tätigkeiten vor. So gewinnen die Unternehmen frühzeitig engagierte und bestens ausgebildete Talente.

Co-construit avec des parties prenantes locales et régionales, ce guide a été conçu pour accompagner les acteurs publics, les organisations professionnelles et les entreprises dans le renforcement de leur collaboration, en tenant compte des réalités spécifiques de l’Afrique de l’Ouest.

Au cours d'une session courte et dynamique, les principales fonctionnalités et les atouts de cet outil ont été présentés. Les contributions constructives tout au long de la réunion ont montré à quel point ce sujet est pertinent et utile pour la région.

The aim of the presentation was to raise awareness of ethical issues in the use of AI in hospitality education. AI ought to serve as a tool for intellectual engagement, stimulating critical thinking and analytical skills. At the same time, its use must be guided by strong moral and ethical principles.

The discussions were deeply engaging. Key takeaways included the need for greater AI literacy among educators and a more proactive approach to AI integration in academia. The thoughtful contributions highlighted just how vital it is to keep this conversation going.
