The benefit of a Vocational Education and Training (VET) system depends on the relevance of the competences trained. Thus, relevant competences must be identified and transposed into a functional curriculum.
Emanuel Wüthrich from the Swiss Federal University of Vocational Education and Training presents the "Situated VET" approach, a coherent and holistic process in curriculum development. The real work situation as reported from the respective professionals is the basis for the definition of a competence, for the curriculum and for training and assessment.

How is VET changing as a result of the pandemic?
29th of October 2020, online via Zoom
The event started with two speed dating rounds. On the occasion of these exchanges, the participants discussed the Theses on the changes in vocational education and training due to the pandemic, published in advance by FoBBIZ.
Both the insight into the work of the SERI Task Force Group and the report on the situation in Honduras were met with great interest. Most participants appreciated the mix of presentation and group discussions. The formation of small groups was well received, as it enabled professional exchange and networking.
