BeDoCare Conference
Nairobi
1-3 October 2025

I had the opportunity to attend the BeDoCare Conference 2025 at Strathmore University in Nairobi, alongside 250 participants from 21 countries.
Of particular interest, given our work in favour of dual vocational training, were the two panels in which members of our DualNet network participated.
"Overcoming Educational Barriers in Low-Income Communities", featuring Marie Noelle from YARANI and Lynda from KIBONDENI. Evelyn from the WONDER Foundation shared how inner barriers such as constant stress, low self-belief and a sense of not belonging can be overcome by structured, goal-oriented coaching that builds confidence and self-awareness.
"Vocational Training: Bridging Skill Gaps for Employment", which focused on how dual vocational training programmes are meeting the needs of the changing labour market, with Marielle o YARANI and Taty from KIMBONDO in attendance. As one panellist put it, “vocational training has to be cool, because Africa’s future depends on youth who see work as a path to dignity and innovation”,
Thank you to Movetia for financially supporting our participation in this conference and the subsequent networking opportunities.
